Pritzker to sign gun confiscation bill

A measure that requires law enforcement to confiscate firearms from subjects of domestic orders of protection will become law Monday after Gov. J.B. Pritzker signs the bill that passed during lame duck session last month.

Proponents say Karina’s Law is needed to take guns away from alleged domestic abusers. Opponents say the measure bypasses due process rights.

Pritzker video trolls Trump

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker is trolling President Donald Trump’s decision to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

On his political social media account, Pritzker said Lake Michigan will be named Lake Illinois.

The governor also said he plans to make an “important announcement” about the Mississippi River. Trump signed the official proclamation for the Gulf of America as he flew over the body of water towards the Super Bowl Sunday.
