(The Center Square) – In today’s edition of Illinois in Focus Daily, The Center Square associate editor Greg Bishop reviews some of President Donald Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress, and some responses from elected officials from Illinois.
Bishop also reviews comments Illinois legislators made on the Illinois House floor Tuesday to the start of 25% tariffs the Trump administration imposed against Mexico and Canada.
Also in focus, some of the latest court filings the state of Illinois and other defendants filed in the case the U.S. Department of Justice brought against Illinois, Cook County and the city of Chicago seeking to overturn the state’s migrant sanctuary policies.
And, Bishop reviews some of the top headlines coming out of the Illinois State Capitol concerning a lawsuit Republicans brought against the state’s legislative maps drawn by Democrats, and the questions legislators posed to officials with the new Illinois Department of Early Childhood.
