Trump campaign has outraised Biden campaign in Michigan

Former President Donald Trump has raised the most money from Michigan of all presidential candidates, taking in $1.81 million since the start of the campaign cycle.

Trump raised $170,898 in January. President Joe Biden raised the next most from Michigan, with $858,781 since the start of the campaign and $194,456 in January.

Twenty-four notable presidential candidates, including those who have dropped out, raised a total of $4.5 million from Michigan donors between Jan. 1, 2023, and Jan. 31, 2024. Thirty-five notable candidates raised $28 million in Michigan during the 2020 election cycle, while 25 raised $15.9 million during the 2016 election cycle.

Below is how much each presidential candidate has raised so far from Michigan in the 2023-2024 election cycle:

Looking at Biden and Trump alone:

1,480 donors in Michigan donated to Biden’s campaign in January.Of those 1,480, the largest share, 536 (36%), donated between $25 and $49.6,003 donors in Michigan donated to Trump’s campaign in January. Of those 6,003, the largest share, 2,652 (44%), donated under $5

Biden has raised 19% of the money donated in Michigan this election cycle. He received 51% of the vote in 2020. Trump has raised 40% of the money donated in Michigan this election cycle. He received 48% of the vote in 2020.
