Man in custody, charged with damaging Vance’s house

(The Center Square) – A man is in custody charged with attacking the home of Vice President J.D. Vance overnight.

In a statement, Secret Service Assistant Special Agent in Charge Matthew C. Young told The Center Square a man was detained by agents assigned to Vance’s home in the East Walnut Hills area of Cincinnati.

The Secret Service said he caused property damage, including breaking windows on the outside of the home.

The suspect hasn’t been named. The Secret Service said Cincinnati Police took him into custody shortly after midnight.

Vance nor his family were not in Ohio at the time of the incident, Young said.

The Secret Service, Cincinnati Police and the U.S. Attorney’s Office are reviewing the incident to determine charges.
