Ohio sports betting numbers rebound in March

(The Center Square) – Ohio sports bettors seemed to enjoy March Madness, wagering more than $800 million in March, despite the Ohio State women’s team being the only major team to make the tournaments.

Total March sports betting handle reached $809.3 million, up 20.4% from February, with the bulk of the bets – $784.8 million – placed on mobile betting services.

March revenue, however, was down 3.8% in March to $63.8 million and mobile sports taxes fell 4.5% from February to $12.8 million.

A year ago in March, sportsbooks produced $95 million in revenue in the state’s second month of legal sports wagering.

The numbers, though, were better than Michigan.

The top five mobile sports betting operators in the state by handle in March were Belterra Park (FanDuel), Hollywood Toledo (DraftKings), Cleveland Guardians (Bet365), MGM Northfield Park and Hollywood Columbus (ESPN BET).
