1.3M have voted in Wisconsin, more than 800K in person

(The Center Square) – Wisconsin has seen 1.3 absentee votes submitted, both in-person and through the mail, through Thursday heading into Tuesday’s election.

That includes 801,083 in-person votes.

The state also released new numbers showing there are 3,658,236 active registered voters in the state as of Nov. 1.

Milwaukee County has received 198,216 ballots, with 119,681 voting in-person. Dane County has received 175,684 ballots with 100,603 in-person voters. Waukesha County has seen 147,347 votes with 98,053 in-person voters.

Administrator of the Wisconsin Elections Commission Meagan Wolfe said the time frame to put ballots in the mail has passed and voters who still have mail-in absentee should place them in a ballot drop box or bring them to their clerk’s office.

Ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.

Voter registration closed at 5 p.m. Friday through Election Day but voters can register on Election Day at the polls.

Voters must bring a drivers’ license or identification and proof of residence to register.

Voters must be in line at their polling place by 8 p.m. on Tuesday to vote. After voting is completed, the results for each of the 72 Wisconsin counties will be posted on a county website.

The WEC does not post consolidated statewide results.
