(The Center Square) – The Democratic National Committee announced a $3 million investment into the Wisconsin Democratic Party to help fund the Biden campaign’s operations in the state.
“With the Republican National Convention underway in Milwaukee this week, the Biden-Harris campaign and Wisconsin Democrats are doubling down on our critical work of reaching voters across Wisconsin,” Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison said Tuesday. “We’re going to win this election by engaging voters community-by-community, block-by-block, door-by-door. These investments show that commitment in action.”
The money is part of a larger $15 million in funds the DNC distributed to battleground states.
The Wisconsin investment will help fund the Biden campaign’s activities and infrastructure in the state, including connecting with voters to improve engagement, opening new urban and rural field offices and enabling greater communication and data sharing among battleground state campaigns.
“Trump’s extreme agenda makes this the most consequential election of our lifetime. That’s why Democrats are leaving nothing to chance, investing heavily on the ground to ensure Joe Biden and Kamala Harris win this election,” Harrison said.
The announcement comes as the Republican National Convention takes place in Milwaukee this week. The Milwaukee 2024 Host Committee has estimated that more than 50,000 people are gathered to attend.
The Republican Party of Wisconsin is also determined to win the state, and it recently announced it will open a new Hispanic outreach center in Milwaukee this August to serve as another state and national party campaign hub.
“The Republican Party of Wisconsin is committed to expanding both its presence and support in Milwaukee,” Wisconsin GOP Chairman Brian Schimming said. “Voters are tired of the failed policies of Joe Biden and are ready to restore common sense leadership to the White House with President Trump.”
