Slinger drops sign ordinance complaint related to Trump signs

(The Center Square) – The village of Slinger has dropped its attempt to claim a resident is violating its sign ordinance.

The village sent a letter to the Wisconsin Institute of Law and Liberty on Monday saying “Be advised that upon further consideration, the Village is rescinding the notices of violation issued by the Village Building Inspector dated on or about February 12, 2025.”

Slinger had sent the notice to resident Dwight Mueller, who has a sign on his fence that displays a bald eagle and “Trump Make America Great Again” while a sign in his yard reads “God Guns & Trump.”

WILL sent a letter to Slinger on Mueller’s behalf saying that its attempted enforcement of the sign ordinance, based upon a complaint made to the village, was unconstitutional.
