Lil Nas X Called Out for “Mocking God”
Calling on “angels” and “faith” are usually not what comes to mind first when thinking of Lil Nas X, 24-year-old “Old Town Road” singer. In fact, it’s quite the opposite to what he now calls his “Christian era.” The singer who once raised eyebrows by touting satanic sneakers joked that he earned a grand total of 2 streams in 2023. Fans of Grammy-winner and fellow creators are rightfully skeptical, and most are labeling his latest work as nothing more than a cheap gimmick and not the result of an overnight “Damascus Road,” embrace of Christianity.
Angel Taylor Celebrates First #1 as a Solo Artist
Angel Taylor has a lot of reasons to sing these days. Taylor, a former member of the 90s Grammy-nominated gospel girl group Trin-i-tee 5:7 Taylor known for her signature soprano vocals has truly hit a high note with her solo debut “Speak,” released in 2022, and currently sitting in top spots both on the Billboard and Mediabase gospel charts. “Speak,” a remake of the Donnie McClurkin classic “Speak to My Heart,” had been in the works for Taylor since 2016 and its success signals the beginning of more great things to come.
Stellar Tribute to the Holidays
Central City Productions, producers of the annual Stellar Awards ceremonies, have returned just in time for the holidays bringing gospel fans a star-studded lineup of entertainment to kick-off of the Christmas season. The special, which first began airing in 2010 is a showcase of artist performances with personal touches such as holiday memories. This year’s show will be a definite must-see with host gospel artist Doe Jones. Performers will include The Group Fire, JJ Hairston, Pastor Mike Jr., Lena Byrd Miles, and many others. The show will air on Stellar TV and will also be syndicated in various local markets.
Someway Somehow
If you are looking for new ideas and ways to celebrate the Christmas holidays, look no further than Someway Somehow, a glorious production that was directed and written by gospel artist Anthony Brown. The play will have a total of four presentations starting December 9, 2023, in the DMV. This year’s musical at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden will boast an array of singing and acting talents from gospel fan favorites such as David and Tamela Mann, Isaac Carree, Darrel Walls, Anaysha Figueroa Cooper, and Jonathan McReynolds.

Gospel Music Haus and Museum Concert in TX
Gospel diva Yolanda Adams is partnering with V. Michael McKay and The Experience IV: Gospel Music Haus and Museum of Houston for an annual fundraiser concert. The museum, founded in 2021, was created to foster an appreciation for African American Gospel music and will feature and celebrate numerous gospel singing women. The event will take place on Sunday, December 10th at the Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church at 6:00 pm.
