Rest in Peace Tina Turner

Tina Turner, known as “The Queen of Rock and Roll,” has died at her home in Switzerland. She was 83 years old.

Tina was a music legend and a role model. Her life has been documented on various platforms over several decades, but no one in recent or past history could possibly match the energy and sheer power that Tina exuded on and off stage.

She was born in Nutbush, Tennessee, as Anna Mae Bullock. She and Ike Turner rose to fame in the 1960s as the singers of “Ike & Tina Turner Revue. We, of course, know the story of her leaving Ike, following years of physical and emotional abuse. But she staged what is probably the greatest comeback in pop music history, scoring massive hits in the 1980s, such as “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” “Private Dancer,” and “Simply the Best.”

Well, with more than 180 million albums sold, 12 Grammy Awards won, and sold-out stadiums around the world, I sure hope she is resting in peace. Because no one deserves that more than rock queen Tina Turner.
