ABC announced that “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” would be pulled “indefinitely” following the host’s comments about the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, Deadline reported.
The decision came after Nexstar announced it would drop the show from its 32 ABC affiliates, citing “strong objections” to Kimmel’s remarks.
In his Sept. 15 monologue, Kimmel criticized MAGA supporters for “trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them.”
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr condemned Kimmel’s remarks as “some of the sickest conduct possible” and suggested potential action.
Representatives for Kimmel did not comment.
The Emmy-winning program, on the air since 2003, now faces its biggest crisis amid escalating political polarization.
