(AURN News) — As the conflict in the Middle East intensifies, a new wave of national polling reveals a growing sense of wariness among the American public. According to polls released this week by Quinnipiac and Marist, a clear majority of Americans now oppose U.S. military action against Iran.
While support remains high among Republicans, nearly 60% of Americans say they disapprove of the ongoing campaign. The polls also show strong opposition to a ground escalation, with more than 70% of voters across both parties saying they oppose sending U.S. troops to the region.
Experts say the shift is driven by two main concerns: domestic safety and economic impact. About half of Americans say the strikes have made the U.S. less safe from potential retaliatory attacks.
