Biden’s Ticket Fee Battle: Transparency for Consumers

Well, no more junk fees. President Biden announced a major victory today in the fight against sneaky ticketing fees. Entertainment giant Live Nation and ticketing behemoth Ticketmaster have pledged to display the full price of tickets upfront, sparing consumers the frustration of surprise fees during online checkout.

The development comes as the administration pushes for legislation to target hidden costs across the economy, addressing the concerns of voters leading up to the 2024 election. During a White House round table, the President emphasized the importance of all-in pricing, where companies disclose fees from the start of the shopping process.

Consumers will now have a clear understanding of the total cost before making a ticket purchase, saving them from last-minute surprises. Biden’s efforts to lower costs and eliminate hidden fees for hardworking families continue to gain traction.
