CBO: 10 Million Could Lose Health Coverage Under GOP Plan

Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon, Rep. Frank Pallone of New Jersey and Rep. Richard Neal of Massachusetts — all Democratic committee leaders — requested the analysis.

The CBO also warned that the expiration of enhanced premium tax credits alone, originally expanded under the American Rescue Plan and later extended, could start reversing coverage gains as early as 2026. Combined with the GOP-backed provisions, the number of uninsured Americans could swell to more than 38 million by 2034.
