DNC Day 1: Biden Says ‘America I Gave My Best to You’

On day one of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, President Joe Biden passed on the torch to Vice President Kamala Harris, declared his love for America, and quoted a line from the song “American Anthem” as he bid farewell.

“Let me know in my heart, when my days are through. America, America, I gave my best to you.”

The crowd rose to their feet, screaming, “Thank you, Joe.”

Vice President Kamala Harris is set to speak on Thursday but gave a surprise appearance on Monday night.

“This November, we will come together and declare with one voice, as one people, we are moving forward,” Harris said.

The theme of the first night was “For the People.” Tuesday night, it is a “A Bold Vision For America’s Future.”

Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama will speak and show America that this presidential race is about two different visions for America.
