Vice President Kamala Harris has announced Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate for the 2024 presidential election. Harris stated, “Tim’s deep convictions for fighting for middle-class families make him the ideal partner. We start out as underdogs, but together we can win this election.”
Harris and Waltz will make their first joint campaign appearance tonight in Philadelphia, kicking off a five-day tour to key battleground states.
Reactions are pouring in: Rev. Al Sharpton praised Walz for his commitment to justice following George Floyd’s murder, saying Walz is ready and willing to support Kamala Harris as she seeks to become the first Black female president.
People for the American Way also expressed excitement, highlighting Walz’s achievements in job growth, education, public safety, and reproductive rights.
Together, the Harris-Walz team aims to strengthen democracy, protect reproductive freedom, and ensure opportunities for all Americans. This dynamic duo is set to energize a Democratic base and present a powerful vision for the future.
