Final Farewell Set for Civil Rights Giant Rev. Jesse Jackson

(AURN News) — Funeral arrangements have been released for civil rights icon the Rev. Jesse Lewis Jackson Sr.

Public events will take place in Chicago. Rev. Jackson will lie in state at the Rainbow PUSH Coalition headquarters on Wednesday, Feb. 25, and Thursday, Feb. 26. Doors open at 10 a.m. both days.

On Friday, Feb. 27, a people’s celebration will be held at House of Hope, beginning at 9 a.m. Homegoing services will be held at the Rainbow PUSH Coalition headquarters on Saturday, Feb. 28. Doors open at 9 a.m.

The family said he passed peacefully Tuesday morning, surrounded by loved ones. The family is asking the public to honor his memory not just with attendance but with action.

Registration details for the public celebration are expected in the coming days at jessejacksonlegacy.com.
