Five Soldiers Shot at Georgia Military Base

Another military base is reeling after gunfire broke out inside its gates — this time at Fort Stewart, Georgia, one of the largest Army installations in the country.

Officials say an Army logistics sergeant, identified as Quornelius Radford, opened fire at his workplace just before 11 a.m., shooting five fellow soldiers.

He was tackled by other troops at the scene and arrested less than 40 minutes later. All five victims are recovering and reported to be in stable condition.

No motive has been released. The Army says it will not speculate.

The incident adds to a disturbing pattern of deadly violence, raising new questions about safety and mental health in America’s armed forces. From Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009 to Pensacola, Florida, in 2019, a troubling trend has emerged — mass shootings carried out by those in uniform with base access.

Both the White House and Pentagon confirmed that President Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have been briefed.
