Former Congressman Hurd Declares Candidacy for 2024 Presidential Race

Former Texas Congressman Will Hurd has officially entered the race for the 2024 Republican nomination for president. The 45-year-old made the declaration on Thursday, accompanied by an interview with CBS News, where he discussed his campaign strategy and outlined his vision for the future of America.

During the interview, Hurd asserted his readiness to take on former President Donald Trump. He also emphasized his desire to unite the country, recognizing the urgent need for cohesive leadership and pragmatic solutions.

In a tweet, Hurd candidly expressed his views on the country’s current state of affairs, particularly regarding the administration of President Joe Biden. He asserted that Biden’s approach to addressing the complex challenges facing America has been ineffective, adding that Trump, despite his prior experience, would be unable to defeat Biden in the upcoming race.

In the tweet, Hurd also boldly declared himself the sole candidate willing to confront Trump while advocating for a modernized vision for the Republican Party and the nation as a whole.

Hurd, who once held the distinction of being the sole Black Republican in the House of Representatives, hails from San Antonio and served in Congress from 2015 to 2021. During his tenure in Congress, he gained a reputation for his outspoken criticism of former President Trump. Before getting into politics, Hurd had a career working for the Central Intelligence Agency.
