Historic Alert: U.S. on Guard for ‘Global Day of Jihad’

Former Hamas leader Khaled Mashal has declared October 13th as the Global Day of Jihad. The call to action urges Muslims worldwide to express solidarity with Palestine, and this has sent shockwaves across the globe, especially the U.S.

In response, the U.S. has taken robust security measures from Florida to New York, and law enforcement agencies are on high alert.

In the Big Apple, police officers are on duty, with a special focus on religious schools and Jewish neighborhoods. Meanwhile, in the nation’s capital, the U.S. Capitol Police are enhancing security throughout the Capitol complex. But despite the heightened security, officials have urged calm.

The call for a day of jihad comes against the backdrop of the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, which has seen rising tensions and confrontations, even on U.S. soil.

Hate crimes against both Jewish and Palestinian individuals in the U.S. have surged, underscoring the need for these increased measures.
