Hunter Biden Expected to Plead Guilty to Tax Crimes

Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, is expected to enter a guilty plea on Wednesday to tax-related offenses and to acknowledge possession of a firearm while being considered an unlawful user or addict of a controlled substance. The plea deal was negotiated with the Justice Department.

According to a Delaware court filing dated June 20, 2023, the charges against Hunter Biden include two counts of willful failure to pay federal income tax and one count of possession of a firearm by an individual who is an unlawful user or addicted to a controlled substance.

The plea deal reached between Hunter Biden’s legal team and the prosecutors includes a recommendation of two years of probation.

The case is being overseen by U.S. District Court Judge Maryellen Noreika, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump in December 2017. Judge Noreika is responsible for reviewing and approving the terms of the plea deal before it is finalized.
