John Bolton Agrees to Plead Guilty in Classified Info Case

(AURN News) — I’m Ebony McMorris.

John Bolton, the former Trump national security adviser, has agreed to plead guilty to a single felony count of retaining classified national security information.

It’s a major reversal.

He initially faced 18 counts after being indicted last October.

Under the deal, he’ll pay $2.25 million and face anywhere from probation to five years in prison.

The classified material at the center of the case includes diary entries containing top-secret information he shared with his wife and daughter while writing his memoir.

A re-arraignment is set for June 26 in Greenbelt, Maryland.

The judge then has 90 days to sentence him.

As for President Trump, no statement yet, but his past comments tell a story.

He’s called Bolton a washed-up guy, a crazy warmonger who would have started World War III.
