Kennedy Center Concert Disrupted by Log Cabin Republicans

(AURN News) — Guitarist Yasmin Williams’ Sept. 18 Kennedy Center performance was disrupted by the Washington, D.C., chapter of the Log Cabin Republicans, a national organization of gay conservatives, Washingtonian reported.

Kennedy Center staffers said the office of President Ric Grenell set aside dozens of seats for the group, which booed and heckled Williams, a vocal critic of Trump and Grenell.

Security was called as about 20 men in suits, some wearing MAGA hats, filled the audience. Williams continued her set, acknowledging the tension and ending with a defiant message against Trump.

Emails later showed the disruption was planned as part of the group’s monthly meeting. The episode highlights growing political influence at the Kennedy Center under Trump-aligned leadership and raises concerns about artistic freedom.
