Kevin Warsh to Be Sworn In as Federal Reserve Chair

(AURN News) — Incoming Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh will be sworn in this week.

On Friday, he will be sworn in at the White House, becoming the first new Federal Reserve chair since 1987. He replaces Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, whose term is coming to an end.

Powell, who at times clashed with President Donald Trump over interest rates, was appointed by Trump in 2018 and also served during the Biden administration.

Warsh previously served as special assistant to the president for economic policy and executive secretary of the National Economic Council. He was appointed by President George W. Bush.

In 2006, Bush nominated him to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.

Warsh has quite the job ahead of him as the country continues to deal with rising inflation, record-high gas prices and the war with Iran.
