Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” Sets Six-Decade Record

(AURN News) — According to Billboard, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” jumps from No. 32 to No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, making him the first artist to earn top-10 hits in six distinct decades — the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and now the 2020s.

He surpasses crooner Andy Williams, who notched top-10 hits in five decades.

Jackson first reached the Hot 100’s top 10 as a solo artist in 1971 with “Got to Be There.” He now boasts 30 top-10 hits, including 13 No. 1 singles.

His most recent top-10 appearance came in 2018, featured on Drake’s “Don’t Matter to Me.”

At age 11, as a member of the Jackson 5, he first reached the top 10 in 1969 with “I Want You Back.”
