The 2024 presidential race heads to Michigan on Tuesday after Donald Trump easily defeated Nikki Haley in her home state of South Carolina Saturday, essentially locking up the Republican nomination for president.
“This is more about the health of the Republican Party. This is about the health of our country. And what I’m trying to do is show that there is a hole in our boat,” Haley said.
Haley still doesn’t believe Trump could win the general election in November.
“He did not get 40 percent in any of the early states. It is very hard to win a general election if you can’t do that.”
While Trump is expected to win Michigan, Haley has vowed to stay in the race.
On the other side of the aisle, President Joe Biden doesn’t have a major primary challenger but faces headwinds in Michigan as Arab-American activists in the state are rallying voters to cast an uncommitted ballot to protest Biden’s handling of the Israeli-Hamas war.
