New COVID Shots on Deck, but Will You Get Yours?

The FDA is on the cusp of green-lighting new COVID-19 booster shots by Pfizer and Moderna as early as this week. With colder months ahead, the approval comes just in time.

These shots are no longer just boosters, but rather part of an annual immunization effort, similar to a flu shot. These boosters are targeted against the latest variants and will land on shelves alongside seasonal flu vaccines.

But despite millions of doses set to roll out nationwide, demand remains uncertain. Last year, only 20 percent of U.S. adults received updated COVID shots. Will this year be any different?

Now about your pocket; don’t worry. If you have private insurance or government coverage, you’re covered. But what about the 23 million uninsured Americans?

Plans are in place to offer shots through local clinics and pharmacies. Both Moderna and Pfizer are also stepping up to donate doses.

So, the question remains, will you roll up your sleeves and get armed against COVID and the flu at the same time?
