New Data Shows Rising Unemployment Among Black Men

(AURN News) — New data is raising concerns about employment trends among Black men.

According to the Federal Reserve Economic Data system, or FRED, the unemployment rate for Black men ages 20 and older has climbed to 7.3%, the highest level since January 2026.

The increase points to renewed pressure in the labor market, as more workers in this group face challenges finding or keeping employment.

Rising unemployment can have broader effects, impacting income stability, access to resources and long-term economic mobility.
