Poll: 2 of 3 voters say country headed in wrong direction

A significant majority of voters say the country is heading in the wrong direction, according to a new poll.

The Center Square Voters’ Voice Poll, conducted in conjunction with Noble Predictive Insights, found that 66% of likely voters say the country is headed in the right direction compared to just 24% who say it is headed in the right direction.

These results are similar to The Center Square’s last poll released in August that showed that same figure, 66% of surveyed voters, said the country is headed in the wrong direction.

This latest survey also found that 43% of likely voters approve of the job President Joe Biden is doing as president while 57% disapprove.

Biden’s approval rating is similar to the last time The Center Square released a poll in August, which found Biden’s approval rating came in at 40% approval while 54% disapproved.

The survey comes as inflation has soared during Biden’s term and prices remain elevated. The national debt is nearing $34 trillion and more than 10 million illegal immigrants have entered the U.S. since Biden took office.

On foreign policy, both Europe and the Middle East have fallen into wars and China is could invade Taiwan any day.

Biden has taken fire for his response to these issues but also remains competitive in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup with the Republican frontrunner, former President Donald Trump heading into next year’s presidential election.

The survey of 2,605 voters includes 1,035 Republicans, 1,074 Democrats, and 496 true Independents, and is among the most comprehensive in the country.

It was conducted by Noble Predictive Insights from Oct. 20-26 and has a margin of error of 1.92%.
