(AURN News) — A new Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll shows President Donald Trump’s disapproval rating has reached the highest point of either of his terms at 62%. His overall approval stands at 37%.
The numbers are being dragged down by his handling of the Iran war and the economy. Two-thirds of Americans disapprove of his management of the Iran conflict.
His approval on inflation has dropped to 27%. On the cost of living, just 23% approve.
With six months until the November midterm elections, Democrats now hold a five-point advantage in congressional preference among registered voters, up from two points in February. Among the most certain voters, the gap widens to nine points.
Democrats are also more motivated. Seventy-three percent say this election is more important than past midterm elections, compared to 52% of Republicans.
The White House has not responded to the poll’s findings.
