Poll: Trump’s approval rating remains steady at 52%

President Donald Trump’s approval rating remains steady at 52%, according to the latest polling.

Napolitan News Service has asked voters whether they approve or disapprove of the way Trump is doing his job every week since Nov. 18, shortly after he was elected president. Over the 18 weeks, Trump’s approval rating has held steady at between 51% and 55%.

While 52% of voters approve of the job Trump is doing, 45% disapprove, according to the latest poll, conducted March 18-27 of 3,000 registered voters.

The economy (identified by 36% of voters in the poll) and immigration (17%) remain the top two issues on voters’ minds.

The recent controversy surrounding Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth mistakenly sharing details about a planned air strike on rebel Houthis in Yemen with a journalist on Signal did not resonate with voters.

“On every survey we ask voters to describe in their own words what is the most important issue facing the nation,” pollster Scott Rasmussen, founder of the Napolitan Institute, said. “On our poll that ran on Wednesday/Thursday this week (March 26-27), we asked that question of 1,000 Registered Voters. Only 5 out of 1,000 mentioned anything related to the controversy surrounding Secretary Pete Hegseth that some are calling Signalgate.

“This is just another example of the fact that what gets the most attention in Washington isn’t usually what matters most to the majority of the country,” Rasmussen continued.

The survey of 3,000 registered voters was conducted online by Rasmussen from March 18-27. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 1.8 percentage points.
