Rioter Gets Jolted With 12+ Year Sentence for Role in Capitol Attack

Daniel Rodriguez, the man who viciously attacked police officer Michael Fanone with an electroshock weapon during the January 6th Capitol riot, received a hefty sentence of 12 and a half years behind bars.

Rodriguez, who pled guilty to multiple charges including conspiracy and assault, defiantly shouted the debunked claim that Trump won as he was leaving the courtroom. During sentencing, Judge Amy Berman Jackson didn’t hold back, labeling Rodriguez a “one-man army.”

His pre-riot calls for violence and revolution in a Telegram group chat that he created did not bode well for his defense. The judge emphasized that while Rodriguez sought to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power, officer Fanone was bravely defending the very foundation of democracy.

While justice has been served with Rodriguez’s sentence, Fanone believes it’s time for the Department of Justice to indict Trump for his role in the insurrection. Until those responsible for orchestrating the attack face consequences, Fanone says he won’t find closure.
