Sen. Lindsey Graham Laid to Rest

WASHINGTON (AURN News) — Funeral services for the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., begin today.

An arrival ceremony took place this morning at the U.S. Capitol, where an Armed Forces body bearer team carried his remains into the Rotunda, honoring his service in the Air Force.

A private ceremony followed before the casket moved to Washington National Cathedral for a 2 p.m. funeral service.

The cathedral also hosted funeral services for former President Jimmy Carter and former Vice President Dick Cheney, underscoring its role in honoring prominent national leaders.

President Donald Trump is scheduled to deliver a tribute at today’s service. The two had a complicated history. Graham was one of Trump’s sharpest critics in 2015 and 2016 before becoming one of his closest allies in the Senate.

Tomorrow, services move to South Carolina, where Graham will be honored with a public procession to the South Carolina State House, an Air National Guard flyover and a private burial in his hometown of Pickens.
