The Abortion Battle One Year After Roe v. Wade Reversal

Abortion rights advocates and opponents mark the one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade reversal, with events highlighting the ongoing fight over abortion access.

After the reversal, Republican-controlled states swiftly passed restrictive legislation resulting in near-total abortion bans in 14 states.

A rally in Washington on Saturday aims to prevent a celebration of reproductive rights erosion, and the White House says Vice President Kamala Harris will be calling for national legislation to protect abortion rights during a speech on Saturday in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Meanwhile, former White House adviser Kellyanne Conway has partnered with the anti-abortion group Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America in an effort to refine their messaging and train Republican candidates.

Advocates on both sides are gearing up for the next election, where abortion remains a critical issue, and public opinion polls consistently show that a majority of Americans support legal abortion in all or most cases.
