Trump Administration Removes Black Leaders, Raising Fears of Federal Resegregation

(AURN News) — The Trump administration has removed several high-ranking Black officials from federal leadership positions, deepening concerns about racial exclusion within the government, according to reporting from The New York Times.

The dismissals span major agencies and independent boards that traditionally serve across multiple administrations.

Analysts note that the firings come as the White House dismantles diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the federal workforce.

Only two of the administration’s 98 Senate-confirmed appointees in its first 200 days have been Black — a sharp decline from previous administrations.

Experts warn that the shift effectively resegregates federal institutions, reversing decades of progress that made government service a pathway to the middle class for many African Americans.
