Trump Again Peddles in Racist Tropes

(AURN News) — President Donald Trump shared an AI-generated video depicting racist imagery, drawing renewed criticism during his second presidency.

The video, posted to Trump’s Truth Social account, depicts former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama as apes in a jungle, set to the song “In the Jungle.”

The clip was originally generated by a MAGA meme account and later tacked onto a video spreading false claims about the 2020 election. The president shared it and has left it up.

When pressed, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt called it “fake outrage.” When asked if he would take it down, there was no response.

But this is just one of many racist tropes Trump has invoked over the years. The episode follows conspiracy theories, birther lies and AI images of Black leaders depicted in degrading caricatures, underscoring that this is not a one-off but a pattern.

Democrats have pressed Republicans to denounce the act and call out the president.
