Trump Allies Discuss ‘Nationalizing’ U.S. Elections, Report Says

(AURN News) — According to The New York Times, President Donald Trump and his allies are increasingly discussing “nationalizing” elections and allowing Republicans to take greater control of voting procedures in parts of the United States, particularly ahead of midterm elections where the party fears major losses.

While the plan remains vague, several swing states appear to be potential targets, including Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina and Arizona.

In Georgia, the FBI seized hundreds of ballot boxes from a Fulton County warehouse as part of an investigation tied to allegations of election fraud.

In North Carolina, Republicans reshaped election boards to gain more control, while in Arizona officials who have promoted election conspiracy theories are pushing for expanded authority over voting procedures.

The New York Times also reports that Philadelphia could be another focus of scrutiny, as Trump has repeatedly made accusations about voting in the city.
