Trump Ousts Pam Bondi as Attorney General After Mounting Scrutiny

(AURN News) — President Donald Trump has ousted Attorney General Pam Bondi after months of controversy, amid reports he was frustrated with her handling of Justice Department actions.

The dismissal comes after months of controversy, including criticism over the Justice Department’s limited release of Jeffrey Epstein-related files and failed prosecutions targeting Trump’s political rivals.

Multiple reports indicate Trump had grown frustrated behind the scenes, believing Bondi’s Justice Department was not aggressive enough in pursuing his opponents or advancing investigations aligned with his claims — raising questions about whether loyalty played a role in her dismissal.

At the same time, Bondi faced bipartisan scrutiny on Capitol Hill, where lawmakers accused her of defying subpoenas and undermining the independence of the Justice Department.

Even after her firing, Bondi remains under subpoena and is expected to testify in connection with the Epstein investigation.

Trump praised her publicly as a “loyal friend” on Truth Social while naming Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche as acting attorney general.

Now the focus shifts to what comes next.
