Trump Takes Podium With Disapproval Matching Jan. 6 Levels

WASHINGTON (AURN News) — President Donald Trump will deliver a State of the Union address at 9 p.m. Eastern tonight in the House chamber.

While the president may highlight his recent affordability tour, new polling suggests the public isn’t convinced.

A Washington Post-Ipsos poll shows Trump’s disapproval rating at 60%, matching levels seen after Jan. 6. Critics point to a 13% spike in utility bills, high grocery prices and what they describe as an immigration crackdown that has gone too far.

Meanwhile, Trump’s “America First” foreign policy faces a test as tensions with Iran escalate.

The focus will not be limited to the podium. Attention is also on the president’s interaction with Justices Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett, whom he recently criticized after a Supreme Court ruling struck down his tariff policy.

Across the aisle, Democrats are sending a message through invited guests, including survivors connected to Jeffrey Epstein and families impacted by the expiration of Affordable Care Act subsidies.
