U.S. seizes oil tanker off coast of Venezuela

The United States has seized a sanctioned oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, President Donald Trump said Wednesday.

“It’s the largest one ever seized actually, and other things are happening,” Trump announced during a roundtable at the White House.

The seizure comes as the U.S. has increased its military presence in the region. Last month, the USS Gerald Ford, the largest and newest aircraft carrier, and its strike group arrived in the Caribbean to support counter-narcotic operations in the region.

This is a developing story.
