Weaponized Justice: Letitia James Fights Back Against Federal Charges

(AURN News) — “This is about all of us, and about a justice system which has been weaponized — a justice system which has been used as a tool of revenge and a weapon against those individuals who simply did their job and who stood up for the rule of law. But my faith is strong.”

With fire in her voice and no fear in her eyes, New York Attorney General Letitia James walked out of a federal courthouse in Norfolk, Virginia, declaring she will not be deterred.

James pleaded not guilty to federal bank fraud charges and an indictment. That came just weeks after President Donald Trump called for her prosecution online.

James’ attorney called this a selective and vindictive case of political retribution. The indictment accuses her of lying about a Virginia property to save roughly $50 a month — charges she says are baseless.

Her trial is set for Jan. 26.
