What’s Really Worrying Americans Right Now?

(AURN News) — A new Associated Press survey finds that economic concerns are hitting home for many Americans.

The poll, conducted Oct. 22–Nov. 4 by SSRS for the Associated Press, included registered voters in California, New Jersey, New York City and Virginia — states where major races were taking place this week.

In New Jersey, 36% of voters were concerned about taxes, 32% about the economy and 16% about health care.

In New York City, the cost of living was a major focus, with 56% of voters saying it is the top issue facing the city. When it comes to crime, 22% said it was a top issue.

The Associated Press reports that almost half of California voters said they were “angry” about the current direction of the country. In Virginia, 49% of voters said the economy was most important, followed by 21% who cited health care.
