You’re Paying This Much More Because of Tariffs

(AURN News) — Tariffs under President Donald Trump are costing the average American household $47 a month, according to a new survey from Omnisend. That adds up to $12.2 billion in extra spending so far this year as companies pass on higher import costs to consumers.

Shoppers say they’re feeling the pinch most at major retailers. Nearly 39% reported seeing higher prices on Amazon, followed by 30% on Temu, 27% at Walmart and 24% at Shein.

One in seven households said they spend $100 or more each month because of the tariffs.

While the policy is meant to encourage buying American, opinions are divided. Omnisend found 43% of respondents would pay more for products made in the USA, compared with 32% who would not.

At the same time, 68% said they are steering away from Chinese e-commerce companies because of the price hikes. About 49% of respondents said the tariffs are not worth the cost, while 28% said they support them.
