Executive Director, Operations Manager Named by Chamber
Joanne Davis was recently named executive director and Jacobi Winslett was named operations manager by the chamber’s board of directors.
Miss Davis had been a contracts manager at the Material Command at Tinker U.S. Air Force Base for most of the 36 years she has lived in Oklahoma City.
She retired last year.
Miss Davis spent eight years as director of small business for an agency.
She has served on the boards of directors of the New View Oklahoma and Guiding Right and other non-profit organizations.
The chamber’s newly-named executive director said she and the chamber will increase efforts for economic development, as well as work to create new businesses and to develop programs to help sustain those businesses.
“Our goal,” she added, “is to have the chamber become a hub for identifying opportunities for individuals and companies throughout Oklahoma City and elsewhere.”
Mr. Winslett is owner of Winslett Cleaning Services.
The recently named operations manager said he will bring his experience as a business owner to the position as he works with other small business owners.
“This is about service for our community,” he said, “as we all strive to climb higher heights as entrepreneurs.”
A native of Oklahoma City and a graduate of Millwood High School, Mr. Winslett worked in Oklahoma County law enforcement and in retail management prior to opening his business.
Miss Davis and Mr. Winslett will join Terri Owens, the chamber’s office and events coordinator since 2013.
“The chamber’s board has confidence in this leadership team,” said Gary Woods, chairman of the board, “will fulfill the needs of our members and partners.”
“These appointments is only the beginning of a new chapter for this organization.”
