(AURN) – According to PEOPLE.com, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater opened its 2025–26 season on Dec. 3 with a star-studded gala led by Honorary Chair Colman Domingo and Honored Guest Ciara. Artistic Director Alicia Graf Mack ushered in AILEY’s next chapter with a night that highlighted both legacy and renewal. Graf Mack, inspired since childhood by Judith Jamison — her “North Star” — reflected on continuing the tradition shaped by Jamison and founder Alvin Ailey. The evening featured works including Blink of an Eye, A Case of You, Grace, and the iconic Revelations, introduced by Ciara alongside a soaring choir. Alvin Ailey’s pioneering impact on modern dance, particularly elevating African American stories onstage, remains the heartbeat of the company’s evolution.
