Are Economic Issues Chipping Away at Trump’s Support?

(AURN News) — President Donald Trump’s approval ratings are slipping in a narrow but consistent pattern, with voter dissatisfaction over his handling of the economy, trade and inflation driving the decline, according to the latest update from Nate Silver’s Silver Bulletin.

Issue-specific net ratings highlight the trend. On immigration — one of the key issues that helped propel Trump back into the White House — 50% of Americans disapprove of his approach.

Since the start of his second term, Silver Bulletin found Trump’s net approval rating has dropped 4.5 percentage points. His handling of the economy has taken the steepest hit, with approval falling 12.5 points. Approval on trade is down 16.1 points, and inflation ratings have fallen 24.8 points.
