Bossier City brought in $30M in revenue during September

(The Center Square) – Bossier City’s general fund had an increase in revenue during September compared to data from last year, with year-to-date general fund revenue totaling $47 million.

The September financial report, prepared by Bossier Finance Director Angela Williamson, details the city’s financial standing as of last month. According to the data, the general fund brought in $4.5 million in revenue last month compared to $4.1 million in September of last year.

Another fund that brought in large amounts of revenue was consolidated sales tax at $16.7 million compared to $15.1 million last year. Year-to-date, the city has collected $143 million in consolidated sales tax.

In terms of overall revenue, Bossier brought in just over $30 million during September – an increase of $3 million over last year. The city initially budgeted $227 million in total revenue year-to-date but has now surpassed this amount, reaching $268 million.

However, alongside increased revenue, expenses have also risen compared to last year. For example, the city used $5.5 million from the general fund in September, up from $5.1 million last year.

Looking at all funds, the city expensed $10.9 million in September and $98 million year-to-date. While this is still under the $106 million budgeted for expenses, September expenses last year were $9.3 million.

Before reviewing the financials, the City Council will review the adjusted 2026 budget.

The Center Square previously covered financial standing, which councilmember Joel Girouard says is strong. The Bossier finance comittee is exploring different options of paying down city debt and shared sales tax has trended up the past three years.

The Bossier City council will review the financials during Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
