Early Voting Numbers Favor Democrats in Texas Senate Race

DALLAS (AURN News) — Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, continues to build momentum as early voting progresses in the Texas U.S. Senate race.

In Dallas County, Democrats are showing strong early turnout. According to data from the Texas Secretary of State’s office, 65,806 Democrats have voted early so far, compared with 21,374 Republicans.

A recent poll suggests Crockett may also be competitive in a potential general election matchup. Despite claims by some critics that as a Black woman she would not perform as strongly against Republican candidates as her Democratic primary opponent, state Rep. James Talarico, D-Texas, new data suggests otherwise.

The poll from Hart Research found Crockett currently leads Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton 49% to 45%.
