Feds announce surprise arrest of co-conspirator in New Orleans terror attack

(The Center Square) − A Missouri man has been arrested for manufacturing explosive materials in connection with the New Year’s terrorist attack in New Orleans last year.

Jordan Derrick was charged in the Western District of Missouri with one count of engaging in the business of manufacturing explosive materials, one count of unlawfully possessing a firearm and one count of distributing information related to explosives.

According to the Western District, Jabbar downloaded videos in which Jordan filmed tutorials online for making detonators and other explosives. According to the complaint, Derrick’s videos were downloaded from his publicly available video sharing accounts and used by Jabbar.

Jabbar was a 42-year-old Army veteran from Texas who was killed that night. The Federal Bureau of Investigation later said it appeared he acted alone and that there was no evidence the attack was directed by a foreign terrorist organization, despite Jabbar having an ISIS flag in his truck.

The complaint further alleges that Derrick’s videos may have been used to help aid another person in Missouri manufacture explosives.
