Former US Attorneys Issue National Warning About Trump Administration

(AURN News) – “Now is the time for the nation to come together and make its voice heard before it’s too late.”

This is the message from a group of former U.S. attorneys who are sounding the alarm over what they call the most aggressive political interference in the Justice Department they have ever seen. At Monday’s Speak Up for Justice Forum, four former federal prosecutors warned that the Trump administration is actively pressuring prosecutors, attacking judges and hollowing out the independence of the justice system.

They accused the administration of targeting U.S. attorneys and political rivals and installing unqualified loyalists. Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said about one-third of federal prosecutors in New Jersey have already resigned.

Former U.S. Pardon Attorney Liz Oyer said she was fired after rejecting a politically connected request to restore gun rights and that armed marshals were dispatched to her home ahead of her congressional testimony. During the forum, the attorneys encouraged citizens to speak out.
